New Planet Discovered Orbiting Dangerously Close To Giant Star

P.S. Mr. L, what is this? -My best guess is that that is a distant nebula. Nebulae are enormous (really enormous) volumes of gas and dust (mostly Hydrogen and a smattering of others) that exist all over the place in the universe. Their name comes from the Latin for "mist". To be a nebula, it has to be actively 'building' new stuff (stars), which it does by the simple act of contracting. As your massive cloud of hydrogen contracts, it gets super hot and super dense and super spherical, and ultimately can produce one or many stars. From the looks of this baby, there are many proto-stars being created within its innards.
This is absolutely unbelievable.

The nebula apparently is name-less! I think we should give it a name.

I found this and I was amazed. I also found this.
The hourglass shape of the supernova remnant SN 1987A isn’t as well balanced as thought, according to an August picture of the exploded star. Using data on the remnant from the European Southern Observatory’s Very Large Telescope in Chile, astronomers were able to confirm that, when massive stars explode, some of the ejected material gets shot into space faster than other debris.
Cool video, but the first astronomer (I think thats the right word) seems a little shaky about the whole situation. After the video ends it goes into an unrelated video. Sorry.

Solar Flares: What Does It Take to Be X-Class?
I think we as 8th graders should be more aware as to what happens in space and what things can happen to us on earth. For example, the mighty Sun that gives us light. To me Space is like weather forecasting but a little more trickier. I say this because first of all we have a lot of technology to predict hurricanes and all that. But for space and especially the sun its harder because we can't get to close to the sun. That makes life a little bit harder for NASA to predict solar flares. You might not know about solar flares yet but hopefully in this brief article it will teach you something about them and how come we need to be more aware of them.
This will maybe give you a more description about solar flares and about the Sun. Also, this link has awesome facts about the sun and maybe things that you might have not even know about are sun.
I hope you guys like at least one of the articles I put up for you to read about. And maybe learn something new. Thanks a lot, Love this wiki-space thing.

This is evidently the first time that something this big and close has been recognized before it passes by Earth at a narrow range (201,oooish miles, closer than the Moon).
